I have the apprentice version of houdini and am using that to complete an assignment for classes. Lemme know what you think. This is my first attempt at using the software so I picked simple objects to model. 3 out of 5 are shown. I will upload when I have more of them completed. This is by no means completed. I would say it's about 45% completed? I still have a lot of texture work to do on the objects there.

It's progressing nicely. I love the item that looks like a lamp in the background. Beautiful textures. The lighting is good as well. Can't wait to see the other two items. One bit of criticism...Maybe a different camera angle. <---I understand it's a work in progress. :picknose:

very nice textures so far, and i agree, nice lighting.

So you're taking summer course? which class is this?
BTW Dee, do u know , or have you, taken the technical direction "texture" class? Im tempted to take that.

the composition was set by my teacher (that's the camera angle and placement of the objects), so I can't change that. I'll change it for myself, but not for the class. I do agree, though. I don't like the composition right now.

This is for the Houdini class. Procedural Models and Animation. We have to use lots of scripting and stuff to make our scenes. It's very nice. I love this program! SOOOOOO much better than maya all around! I don't think I could go back to maya now.

I'm tempted to take it. I've heard all the TD classes are basically VFX classes that they didn't have room for in the major, so I definitely want to take them!

Very nice textures... The edges of the plate model are pretty apparent though, particularly where it sticks out, so you might want to ramp up the poly count. The shaders look wonderful, though :)

definitely going to work on that one. I saw that and I hate edges, but the dish does have edges like that. Perhaps some artistic license to smooth the thing and make it look nicer. ;) Thanks, I completely agree on the dish.
